As I mentioned before, I'm aware that the overwhelming majority of the films I do trivia quizzes about are from the 1970's and 80's. But this year I'll do two from the 21st century, and today's isn't even 15 years old yet, coming out in 2012. "Sinister" isn't in my Top 10 Horror Films or anything, but I do enjoy it. It had a memorable villain, and a cool twist on the usual monster's methodology. So let's get started--questions followed by the answers, many SPOILERS ahead.

13) Mr. Boogie.

17) 158 Cobb St., in Chatford, Pennsylvania. There is no real town of this name in Pennsylvania.

31) "Good Night Daddy," with a drawing of a flower as well.
32) She cuts them up with an axe.
33) "House Painting."
34) Henry Cornell.
35) 10 years before, on in 2001.
36) The first one, from 1966, the "Pool Party" film, shot somewhere in Oregon.
37) In order, for 1966's "Pool Party," the victims are tied to the lounge deck chairs around the pool and dragged into the pool, drowning them. In 1979's "Barbecue," the family is tied up in their car, which is then set on fire, burning them to death. For 1986's "Lawn Work," the family is tied up and laid out on the lawn, and the murderer drives the lawnmower over them. In 1998's "Sleepy Time, " the victims are tied up on a bed and have their throats cut with a knife. And finally, in 2011's "Family Hanging Out," the victims have their hands tied behind their backs, and have pillowcases put over their heads, and using another tree limb as a counterweight, the murderer child hangs them from a branch.
38) Presumably the same way the Oswalts were motivated to do so. The growing group of murder kid ghosts, assisted by Bughuul, did stereotypical haunting things to scare the family away. Things like causing creepy noises at night, messing with the electrical appliances, the intimidating dog ghost lurking outside, etc. Plus maybe in some cases the eventual murderer kids even begged their folks to leave.
39) It seems practical--if more than one family is slaughtered in a single house, probably the police and others would get suspicious and look more into it, and in doing so might learn about Bughuul, and even find ways to thwart him. Ellison, assisted by Deputy So and So, was apparently the first person to actually connect these various sets of murders. Moving around also ensures that separate, perhaps far away police forces would have to contact each other and share information, too, which often doesn't happen.
40) Again, probably to keep Bughuul's existence and activities secret, so he can keep doing it. Also, he's apparently an immortal or near immortal being, who doesn't need to eat children all that often. Clearly he can survive without for a decade or more. Perhaps it's intentional and planned by Bughuul, and he instructs his child ghost helpers to law low for a while, so enough time can pass, meaning fewer people will connect the family murders. Or, alternately, maybe Bughuul does try to get kids to slay their families more frequently, but some resist, both his actions, and the child ghosts' attempts to convince a new child to kill their families. Maybe Bughuul just got really lucky, and Ashley was extra evil or something, so he was able to get two family slayings in only a short time.
41) Professor Jonas indicates that Bughuul lives in images, not just film itself. So before Super 8 cameras were available, he probably appeared in drawings, paintings, or sculptures, etc. Which maybe explains why images of him are so rare to find--once people learn about him, and his particular powers, they destroy the images to try to stop him. (Bughuul might destroy some of them himself, too, to maintain his secrecy.)
42) Maybe if there are no kids in the household, Bughuul can manage to tempt and convince an adult to commit murders. But, if he can't, or doesn't want to do this, maybe that explains the large time gaps in the murders. Maybe if there are no kids in the house Bughuul and the kid ghosts try to scare the adults away, and hope the next tenants have a kid. This concept does amuse me. I'm picturing Bughuul and the ghost kids getting progressively more frustrated, looking at their watches, etc.
